Integration Manager COM Error

August 25 | By Ryan McBee

Our team recently ran into a new issue with Integration Manager that was not documented.  When running an update on the Inventory Card, we received this message;

“Unable to cast COM object of type ‘System._ComObject’ to interface type ‘Dynamics Application’. This operation failed because the Queryinterface call on the COM component for the interface with IID ‘{6D016638-BA35-11CF-827E-00001B27AB13}’ failed due to the following error: No such interface supported (Exception from HRESULT: 0X800004002 (E_NOINTERFACE))”

We tried the following without any luck.

1)      Run a Repair on the GP installation, then test.  If the error still occurs, repair the IM installation as well and then test again.

2)      If the issue still occurs at that point, try a new, blank .IMD database to see if the issue occurs with a that.  If it does not, then we may need to repair the existing database.

3)      If the issue still occurs even with a new, blank database, then it would be best to uninstall and reinstall both IM and GP on the machine.

The resolution was to do a new install of Dynamics GP without any 3rd party products.  The third party products that were on our original install were Mekorma, Myridas and the HighJump EDI solution.  I am not sure which product was causing the issue, but this should help you going forward.
