Microsoft Dynamics GP POP Standard Cost Default
We have a customer that wanted to have the Standard Cost used as the default cost when creating a Purchase Order instead of the Last originating invoice cost. However, the design of Dynamics GP is to have the last originating cost default into the Purchase Order window.
Fortunately, there is a way to modify the system to get it to use the Standard Cost instead.
Using the Professional Services Tools Library (PSTL) option: POP Cost Defaulter you can choose to use the Current Cost or the Standard cost.

Using POP Cost Defaulter
Use this tool to specify the default cost for a purchase order document. To set up the POP Cost Defaulter, select POP Cost Defaulter in the Professional Services Tools Library and click Next.
As of release GP 2013 R2, PSTL is now part of the core install. You will need to add it as a shortcut once it is installed.
Add PSTL as the window
Next you will Name the Window Shortcut and select Technical Service Tools > Project > Professional Services Tools Library. Then click Done
You will receive a message to Save changes. Click Yes.
You will now see PSTL listed, click PSTL to open the Professional Services Tools Library
Next select POP Cost Defaulter under Purchasing Tools then click Next
Some tools have a second check box that appears directly to the left of the radio button. These tools modify functions within Microsoft Dynamics GP.
Mark the second check box to activate the tool and modify existing forms and menus within Microsoft Dynamics GP automatically.

The next screen allows you to select between Current Cost or Standard Cost.
On the POP Cost Defaulter window, if you want to change your system to use the Standard Cost, click Standard Cost and then OK. This change is company specific and will only change the POP Default Cost for the Dynamics GP company you were logged into at the time you selected PSTL.
