Microsoft Dynamics GP 2016 Ole Note Migration Utility
As you are preparing to upgrade to Microsoft Dynamics GP 2016, this is something you need to consider if you are currently using OLE Notes.
There will not be an Ole Note Migration Utility tool that is compatible with Microsoft Dynamics GP 2016.
What this means: If you haven’t already converted your Ole Notes to Document Attach, you will want to do so PRIOR to upgrading to Microsoft Dynamics GP 2016. Once you are on Microsoft Dynamics GP 2016, there will not be a tool to convert OLE Notes to Document Attach.
If you are currently on Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 or earlier, you will need to upgrade to Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 or Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015 BEFORE being able to upgrade to Microsoft Dynamics GP 2016. At this point of the upgrade process, when you are on Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 or Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015, you will need to convert your OLE Notes to Document Attach BEFORE kicking off the upgrade to Microsoft Dynamics GP 2016.
In addition, if you are currently on Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 and you haven’t yet converted your Ole Notes to Document Attach, you will need to run the Ole Note Migration Utility to convert your OLE Notes to Document Attach prior to upgrading to Microsoft Dynamics GP 2016.
