Dynamics GP 2015 R2 Automatically Deposit Cash Receipts
Still looking for a reason to upgrade to Dynamics GP 2015 R2?
I recently reviewed the new features that were included in the Dynamics GP 2015 R2 update.
Then I created a Blog discussing the feature: Dynamics GP 2015 R2 Visual Indicator for Customer Over Credit Limit. http://www.isolutionspartners.com/?p=621
Here is another feature that could be helpful to some of you. With Dynamics GP 2015 R2, you now have the option to let Dynamics GP automatically post your Cash Receipt as a Deposit.
Using a new feature – Dynamics GP 2015 R2 Automatically Deposit Cash Receipts
To select this option, go to:
Administration >> Setup >> Company >> Company
Then select the Options button to get to Company Setup Options
Select the option: Automatically post cash receipts deposits. (Click OK)
By marking this option you can have cash receipts directly update the checkbook balance without manually posting the cash receipt deposit in Bank Reconciliation. When this option is marked, cash receipts entered and posted in Cash Receipt Entry, Receivables Transaction Entry, Sales Transaction Entry, and Invoice Entry windows, and on return documents in Payables Transaction Entry, will be deposited automatically in the checkbook, and the deposits will update the checkbook balance.
Previously the option to automatically post cash receipts was available onto if you were using Analytical Accounting.
Here are some screenshots that show what this looks like:
Sales >> Transactions >> Cash Receipts
I entered this one receipt and Posted it.
Now, in Bank Reconciliation our Deposit is already listed:
This is a copy of the Cash Receipts Posting Journal
Cash Receipts Posting Journal with the Automatically Post Cash Receipt Deposits option turned on:
This is the Checkbook Posting Journal with the Automatically Post Cash Receipt Deposits option selected.
This is the Checkbook Posting Journal with the Automatically Post Cash Receipt Deposits option not selected.
Note that this option will show the Cash Receipt, not the Deposit. This would be a separate entry.
Financial >> Inquiry>> Checkbook Balance:
Without posting the deposit as a separate transaction, this Receipt/Deposit is showing in the Checkbook as a Deposit.
This is the Checkbook balance inquiry with the Automatically Post Cash Receipt Deposits option not selected.
Note: Our $250.00 Deposit is not listed:
