An Early look at GP 2015 Year End and ACA

Microsoft has given us an early look at some things we need to know for year end!

NOTE: If you are on GP 2010, you need to schedule an upgrade.

This is the LAST year end update for GP 2010!

The Last Tax Update will be October of 2015!

See the Lifecycle blog at:

https://community.dynamics.com/gp/b/dynamicsgp/archive/2014/04/29/lifecycle-for-versions-of-microsoft-dynamics-gp-how-long-am-i-supported.aspx

 Year End: (an early look)

Year-end will be supported for GP 2010, GP 2013 as well as GP 2015 due to be released in December.

  •  There are no W2 form changes
  • There will probably be W2 electronic filing changes (more info later)
  • There are payables 1099 – interest form changes
  • There will probably be fixed assets depreciation changes

Below is information copied directly from Microsoft regarding ACA – Affordable Care Act

ACA – Affordable Care Act – http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-dft/i109495c–dft.pdf

This list below will NOT…I repeat will NOT be on GP 2010…we are only doing this new functionality on GP 2013 and GP 2015.

There are two new forms that IRS released in draft still, not final

1094-C – this is like a summary the employer fills out of all the employees that received the 1095-C a 1094-C should accompany any 1095-C‘s to IRS.

1095-C – this goes to the employee from the employer

We will only do the form, not the electronic reporting of this. (IRS has still not released electronic specs)

What we have to get in place now is the tracking as the forms will not be required till 2016 for the 2015 year so we need to track in 2015.

New Tables for both GP2013 & GP2015

UPR40105-   upr1095Setup     – This new table is designed for the purposes of filling out the boxes on the federal government’s 1095 form.

We have these tables as master tables that can be updated throughout the year.

UPR00904 – uprMstrDependentACA  – The table is generated by the year end close process. The user can go into the form and make changes to the records as needed after the year end close process

UPR00905 – uprMstrEmployeeACA

UPR10108 – uprYearEndDependentACAHistory    – The table is maintained by the user when ACA changes throughout the year. It will be used by the year end close process to create the uprMstrDependentACA table which can be edited by the user after year end close takes place.

UPR10109 –  uprYearEndEmployeeACAHistory   – The table is maintained by the user when ACA changes throughout the year. It will be used by the year end close process to create the uprMstrEmployeeACA table which can be edited by the user after year end close takes place

Existing table changes for both GP2013 & GP2015

BE010130 –     HR – HR_Benefit_MSTR

BE020230    – HR_Benefit_SETP

UPR10100 – UPR_Year_End_WORK_HDR

This is a lot of change that we are implementing, the tracking piece will be now and the formulating of the forms will be later in March/April when we typically release code for 941 form changes.

Even if you upgrade later to let’s say GP 2013 from GP 2010, we built in an editing capability into the edit W2 window, so you can “edit” the data prior to print of the forms and make changes, this should help.

There are also ISV’s out there that have solutions for ACA that integrate with GP, you can evaluate them and determine what best fits your needs.  We are giving you the tools to track this information to the form with the core software.

Release date, I’m not even sure yet, but probably November if possible and then Canadian Payroll in December, we do not know those changes yet.
