5 Steps for a Faster Export of Dynamic GP SmartList

Do you waste, on a daily basis, countless minutes simply waiting for your SmartList to export to Excel? Well, you’re not alone. It’s an issue that several of my clients struggle with as well. I recently discovered an undocumented DEX.INI setting that is sure to help you.
Here are 5 quick and easy steps that will vastly improve your export time. And the good news, it’ll only take you a couple minutes to do.
1) Enter the following statement in your DEX.INI: SmartlistEnhancedExcelExport=TRUE
2) Open the DEX.INI file with Notepad. The DEX.INI file is located in the Data folder in your Dynamics GP directory.
3) Add the following statement at the end of the file (name): SmartlistEnhancedExcelExport=TRUE
4) Save the file
5) If you are already logged into Dynamics GP, exit and relaunch Dynamics GP.
That was easy enough, wasn’t it? Now with a faster export time, enjoy a few extra-reclaimed minutes of your day.
